Paint Brush :
dedicated to the friend who inspired me to write this blog....the one i cudn't stop thinking abt all thru my summers .... a very special person... tinu, i hope u like it...

Paint Brush
I keep my paint brush with me
Wherever I may go,
In case I need to cover up
So the real me doesn't show.
I'm so afraid to show you me,
Afraid of what you'll do - that
You might laugh or say mean things.
I'm afraid I might lose you.
I'd like to remove all my paint coats
To show you the real, true me,
But I want you to try and understand,
I need you to accept what you see.
So if you'll be patient and close your eyes,
I'll strip off all my coats real slow.
Please understand how much it hurts
To let the real me show.
Now my coats are all stripped off.
I feel naked, bare and cold,
And if you still love me with all that you see,
You are my friend, pure as gold.
I need to save my paint brush, though,
And hold it in my hand,
I want to keep it handy
In case someone doesn't understand.
So please protect me, my dear friend
And thanks for loving me true,
But please let me keep my paint brush with me
Until I love me, too.

The Eye of Sauron: The name

seems a wierd name for a blog, but there's an interesting(??) history behind it (interesting or not, well that's for u to judge) ... i was looking for a nice jazzy hip name for my blog ... but just when i needed it the most, my creativity deserted me. So i turn to a friend and ask her to suggest a name... how was i to know she'll use it as an opportunity to take my case and call me a kanjoos. And i'm back to where i started...in the middle of nowhere. The next thing that comes to my mind is the nickname given to me by my friends at XL ... 'The Eye of Sauron' because of my ability to spot things they fail to notice (like girls in a crowded place ;-) ...or maybe because despite wearing glasses, i can see better than many of them..... on a more serious note, it all started with 'The God of Small Things'. While reading it, (might not be corelated though) i realised that there are so many little things happening around us which we fail to take notice of. While running after bigger material pleasures, we tend to ignore the small joys of life.

Flashback to u'r childhood- think what did it take to make u happy.... a couple of marbles more then u'r friends, a small butterfly flying around in the garden, jumping in a puddle after rain.

But this blog is also about something else .... things which are not a 'feel-good' stuff. It is about the darker side of the 'darklord' ... the evil behaviour of people i see everywhere, things which can frustrate any sane human being, the hypocrisy, the masks, the attitudes....well the list is endless

while surfing, i came across a list of ten best choreographed songs of indian film industry.... and it triggered a host of memories of love, infatuation, crushes and immaturity... here's one song that i'll never cease to like...

Pehla Nasha: Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander

A song that talks about first love, picturised on a couple with stars in their eyes. One of the most magical songs in Hindi movies, it very smartly captured the entire essence of first love with the lovers literally floating in the air. Full of dewy freshness, Pehla nasha was like a rainbow coloured air bubble, with the lovers dreamily dancing with their heads far in the clouds! The uniqueness of the song was that it was shot completely in slow motion, with perfect lip sync.

In the movie (Joh Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, 1992) Aamir Khan is wildly infatuated with Pooja Bedi and his head is in a whirl as he fantasizes about her. Ayesha Jhulka loves Aamir and shyly dreams of him kissing her tenderly (and ever so chastely!) on her cheeks. With Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik's mellifluous voices and perfect casting with the two actors, the song became the love anthem for youngsters across the country, and still remains one of the most popular numbers ever.

Love is in the air

After a two and a half month break, u get back to college thinking that u r getting back to the good old ways of life...working late nights, gossiping, free-riding etc etc etc...But wait! this is not the same place i used to yearn for during my lonely summer project...something has changed...there's a sudden surge in the energy levels...u see people who never bothered to take a bath for a week now bathing twice a day...those abstaining from any kind of activity involving the slightest of physical exertion now going for jog every evening..what is this world coming to!!

And then i realise the reasons for this paradigm shift...a bunch of junior girls...i now totally agree with the feminists on the powers of the fairer sex...what else could cause the sort of activity that is witnessed now...Fin gods, the vishvamitras of the batch, shifting their focus to the menakas around... using security analysis strategies to manage their portfolios. Bitten by the love bug, they all are on a continuous lookout for opportunities to interact with the juniors. The situation turning into a "do or die" for those who failed to score last year...
All i can say now- All the best guys, go get them! Hope u find someone who'll domesticate u.
